Most choices aren't black and white, so being of two minds is a common experience. There are pros and cons to both outcomes.
On the finale of this season's Project Runway (US version), one of the contestants, Victoria Cocieru, was struggling with which direction to take with her designs. She said, "In my brain I have a thousand little brains and they are fighting with each other."
I find that a very evocative way of thinking about the problem.
